Can you treat pregnant mothers?

Osteopathy and Manual Therapy is a gentle therapy particularly suitable for mothers, during and after pregnancy.

We offer a safe and non-invasive specialist treatment for many pregnancy related conditions. Most common pregnancy pains are backache & ‘sciatica’, pelvic pain and SPD (pubic/groin pain).

Osteopaths and Manual Therapists are well trained to recognise contra-indications & treatment should be suitable for any healthy & stable pregnancy.

Pre-conception- Osteopathy and Manual Therapy can help with posture, spinal & pelvic mobility and is useful if you have pre-existing injuries/spinal problems & are concerned.

During pregnancy- Osteopathy and Manual Therapy can treat a range of musculoskeletal conditions. It can also help your body prepare by correcting pelvic position & flexibility & promoting pelvic floor integrity.

Post natal- After birth you may be prone to strains & sprains. Breast feeding & carrying a baby also add strain on the body. If you have any questions about how osteopathy and pregnancy or manual therapy and pregnancy, or how we can help you, then please get in touch and call us to arrange an appointment or free telephone consultation today.

Can you treat sports injuries?

Specifically experienced at working with sports injuries and strains and in optimising the body to achieve maximum performance, we can help to relieve or resolve muscle aches and pains whilst complementing performance and maintaining physical integrity.

Treatment can help you keep supple and improve muscle tone so reducing the risk of injury to soft tissues for both casual sports goers as well as seasoned amateur and professional athletes.

Osteopathy and Manual Therapy offers a combination of manual muscle therapy alongside joint mobilisation techniques and fascial stretching which combined can work to improve and develop muscles and therefore performance, as well as effectively treat strains and injuries. Dry needling can help with muscle recovery and Sports Massage can keep you moving and healthy as a regular part of your training regime.

The most traditional port of call for a sports injury is to see a Physiotherapist, however many people do not realize that Osteopaths and Therapists are equally qualified to treat and rehabilitate sports injuries.

Indeed here at Evolution we work with many sports people of all levels to relieve pain and discomfort as well as prescribe rehabilitation exercises and aim to eventually facilitate a full return to sport or improved performance. At Evolution our clinicians will also look to complement your training and recovery with exercises, specifically designed for you.
